The Alabama Coastal Clean-Up will reach a milestone this year on September 16 when hundreds of
volunteers gather for the event’s 30th anniversary to once again "Get The Trash Out of the Splash"!
Over the past 29 years more than 87,000 volunteers scoured 5,400 miles of coastline and removed
nearly 1.6 million pounds of debris! Caitlin Wessel (cwessel@disl.org) will be serving as Zone Captain
for Dauphin Island and she has arranged for ocean plastic recycling as part of this year's Coastal
Clean-up! Additional information is available by contacting Caitlin via email, PALS (People against a
Littered State) at (334) 263-7737 or alpals.org. Let's all do our part to keep our coastlines and
waterways clean!
